Permanent Makeup may not be suitable for everyone. Our priority is ensuring optimal results, and some clients may not be compatible with these procedures. The criteria listed below may prevent you from undergoing permanent makeup at this time. In certain cases, a doctor’s note may be required.
• Pregnant or breastfeeding
• Currently taking antibiotics (2 weeks pre/post appointment)
• Currently using or have been on Accutane within the last 12 months
• Freshly tanned or sunburned face
• Active infection on or around the treated area
• Allergies to pigments or topical anesthetics
• Rosacea in the treatment area
• Visible skin conditions in the treatment area (eczema, psoriasis, moles, etc.)
• Using Retin-A or Glycolic Acid within 2 weeks prior to appointment
• Artificial heart valves or heart conditions (doctor’s note required)
• Diabetes (doctor’s note required)
• Epilepsy (doctor’s note required)
• Chemical or laser peel within the last 6 weeks
• AHA products within 2 weeks prior to appointment
• Botox or filler within the last 3 weeks
• Hypertrophic or keloid scarring
• Autoimmune disease (doctor’s note required)
• Taking blood-thinning medications (doctor’s note required to stop medication)
• Currently undergoing treatment for cancer
• Chemotherapy or radiation within the last 12 months (doctor’s note required)
• All clients must be at least 18 years old (no exceptions)
• If you’ve had your brows or lips tattooed before, results cannot be guaranteed. I do not perform touch-ups on another artist’s work. The area must be at least 90% faded for a full new session.
-
2–6 WEEKS BEFORE:
• No retinoid products in the brow area 2 weeks prior.
• No Vitamin A 2 weeks prior.
• No tanning or intense sun exposure 2 weeks prior.
• Botox/Dysport must be done at least 3 weeks prior so it has time to settle.
• No chemical peels or laser treatments around the brow area 4–6 weeks prior.
• No brow or lash serums in the brow area 4–6 weeks prior.
• I recommend coming to your appointment with your brows grown out. No need to clean them up beforehand — I prefer to see your natural growth and will clean them during the appointment. If you must clean them up, please do so at least 2 weeks before your appointment.
7 DAYS BEFORE:
• No tinting, waxing, or electrolysis.
• No Vitamin E or fish oil supplements.
• No blood-thinning medications such as Ibuprofen or Advil unless prescribed by a doctor.
24 HOURS BEFORE:
This helps minimize bleeding during the procedure.
• No alcohol.
• No caffeine.
• No excessive sweating or working out.
DAY OF APPOINTMENT:
• Avoid heavy exercise and caffeine. Both increase blood flow and may cause excess bleeding. Drink plenty of water.
• You may come with or without makeup. Photos will be taken, so come however you feel comfortable. If you usually fill in your brows, arriving with them filled in helps me understand your preferred shape.
• You will receive after-care instructions to take home. Brows take 10–14 days to heal. Avoid sun, sweat, water, makeup, and skincare products on the area during this time, so please plan accordingly.
-
• Within 1–2 hours post-appointment, wash your brows with the small bottle of Candy Cleanse and apply a thin layer of the provided balm/lotion.
• First, wash your hands.
• Dispense 1–2 pumps of foaming cleanser onto clean fingers and gently wash in the direction of hair growth. Use a light swipe just to remove excess oil or oozing — no circles and no scrubbing.
• Rinse thoroughly by cupping water in your hands and rinsing until all cleanser is removed. (Do this at the sink, not in the shower.)
• Pat dry with a clean paper towel — not a hand towel — to avoid bacteria.
• Apply a tiny amount of balm/lotion to each brow with a clean finger (about ½ a rice grain per brow).
• Wash morning and night for 10 days. Once brows have finished flaking, you may stop the washing routine.
• Apply balm morning and night for 10 days. If used correctly, you will have enough left for your touch-up.
• Keep brows dry at all times except for washing — for 10 full days. This includes avoiding water from showering, sweating, sauna, hot tub, ocean, pool, etc. Use the provided shower shields to keep brows dry during showers.
• No direct sunlight for 2 weeks, including tanning beds. Once healed, always apply SPF to your brows.
• No makeup, lotion, face wash, serums, shampoo, conditioner, or any skincare products may touch the brows for 10 full days. After that, avoid active ingredients (acne, exfoliating, anti-aging products) on or near the brows.
• Inform your skincare professional that you have permanent brows so they avoid chemical peels or laser treatments on the area — these can cause premature fading or discoloration.
• Do not pick or scratch scabs. Avoid sleeping on your face; if it happens, change your pillowcase to reduce bacteria.
• Swelling, redness, or bruising (if any) should subside within 24 hours.
• Do not touch the treated area unless it is for cleansing.
• For 30 days, avoid sunbathing, solarium, light therapies, chemical peels, fruit acids, microdermabrasion, and creams containing regeneration factors.
• Always avoid laser treatments over the treated area (Fraxel, IPL, etc.), as they can destroy pigment or cause burns.
• Antibiotics and hormonal therapy can lead to faster pigment fading.
-
Immediately after the procedure, your new PMU will look vibrant and bold, with pigment that will fade 30-60% lighter as they heal. You may experience some redness/swelling but this is temporary and will subside.
True results are not revealed until week 6-10 of the healing process. Please be mindful that all skin heals differently and results vary through each individual.
Typical Healing Process
Day 1: Right after the procedure, expect bold and vibrant brows with possible redness or slight swelling, which will subside soon.
Day 2-4: Brows may look even darker as the pigment sets.
Day 5-7: Expect dryness or itchiness as scabbing forms.
Day 7-14: Brows may appear patchy or uneven as they continue to heal.
Day 14-21: Pigment might seem faint, but it will start to resurface.
Day 28-42: The color and shape settle fully, and a touch-up at 6-10 weeks perfects the results.
This is all absolutely normal, and why two appointments may be necessary. Be patient and know that this is the part of the normal and expected healing process.

Lips will go through 3 phases
1st phase: "looks too dark": About 3 days with chapping
2nd phase: "looks too light": Frosty and loss of color
3rd phase: "looks just right": Blooming
Just relax and be patient. It's a process!
Day 1 (Right after the procedure): Lips appear bold and brighter than what it will heal to. It will heal between 30-60% lighter and softer. Lips will be slightly swollen and tender. Color will darken (oxidize) as the day goes on.
Day 2: Lips are darker and may still be a little swollen. Lips are feeling tight and dry.
Days 3-4: Skin is flaking and scabbing and the color is fading.
Days 5-6: Lips start to feel normal and the flaking is gone.
Day 7: Lips have completely healed but the color is much lighter than after the procedure.
Day 28-42 : The color has come back! There may be some uneven spots/patchiness and between 6-10 weeks is the perfect time for a touch-up/perfecting session!
